Questions
-
I have more than one computer at home. Do I need to buy
more than one subscription?
Not unless you have more than five computers at home. A
KleenWeb account includes up to five installations and
is designed for use with one Account Manager who
controls all aspects of all filtering for all
installations.
-
I have a computer at home and computers at work. Can I
use the same subscription?
You can, if one, same person will control both
locations’ computers and the total of both locations’
computers is five or less. Since an Account Manager
controls settings that affect filtering used by this
account - regardless of where the computer is - this
could work effectively only if the same person manages
the computers at both locations.
-
I have more than 5 computers at home, or at work. Do I
need to buy a separate subscription for every 5
computers?
Every subscription has only one Manager. If you have
more than 5 computers that you’d like controlled by one
individual or entity, you can use the same subscription
and increase the installation capability past 5, at
$1.50 per computer per month.
-
I'm still confused about the "Five Uses for one
subscription." Can you explain it better?
Click here, for some more detail
on this.
-
I have a router that provides internet access for all my
computers. Do I need to install KleenWeb on each
computer, or can the router be configured somehow?
Presently every computer requires its own software
installation. There will be a corporate/enterprise
version in the future that will be controlled through a
router, but it is not yet market-ready.
-
Do you offer a try-out period?
We offer the opportunity to try this out for $12.95.
If it does not meet your satisfaction, you can uninstall
and cancel your subscription anytime within 30 days and
it will not renew further. But there is no free try-out
period.
-
What does this cost?
KleenWeb costs $12.95 per month. One subscription can be
used for up to five computers (controlled by one
Manager).
-
Can this be easily turned off for when adults need to
use the computer?
System can be configured so that different users
(children/adults) have internet access at different
filtering levels. Changing between the different levels
would require knowledge of a password. There is a
baseline level of filtering that regardless of level
selected, blocks that which is considered "universally
objectionable”. Those sites are beyond the control of
even the account holder.
-
Can we sign up in {choose some remote location name}?
This will work from/in any location where there is
internet access.
-
Does
this work on a Apple/Macintosh computer?
The current version does not
work on a Mac.
-
Must I use the email address you gave me (@koshernet.com)
to make use of
the email filtering? Can the filtering work for with my
existing mailbox?
To gain the benefit of email content filtering you must
be using an email address that uses our servers (i.e. @koshernet).
-
Do or can I get more than one email addresses?
With a Kleenweb account you get 1 email address and up
to five installations of the product (governed by one
Manager). You may purchase additional email addresses: 1
- 4 more at $3.95 per address; 5 - 10 more at $2.50 per
address; 11+ more at $2 per address.
-
Do you have any other addresses available besides “@koshernet.com”?
The primary email address
established with your account must be @koshernet.com,
but you may select additional email addresses from
@ez2be.com or @13ave.net.
-
Is there any way to completely ‘turn off’ the filtering
temporarily? Say I need to access something on a site
that is blocked for all levels.
Sites containing some undesirable content
(examples - video and image sharing sites) are blocked
in their entirety and for all levels. Though there may
be acceptable (or even desirable) content on those
sites, we have no reliable way of ensuring that a user
could/would not access the undesirable material therein.
If a subscriber wants access to such a site, we then
allow it with the disclaimer that there will be presumed
or potential accessibility to undesirable content. It
could then be added to the “allow list” for Profile 1
(lowest level filtering) and the subscriber controls
access to that Profile by keeping Profile 1’s password
separate and “secret.”
Sites dedicated to content “universally
considered” objectionable are perpetually blocked,
beyond the control and request of a subscriber.
-
Does it matter how many users are set-up on a given
computer?
You may install KleenWeb on up to 5 computers. There is
no limit as to how many people may use the system. Control
is by your establishing passwords for Profile levels (of
which there are 7) and determining who knows those
passwords.
- I
want to purchase this software for a school. We have 50
PC’s where 300 students log in through a server… what
would filtering cost for us?
First five installations are included in the
$12.95/month. You'd indicate how many more installations
you'd like and each would be an additional $1.50/month.
(Each PC needs an installation).
-
What happens if I delete the program’s directory and
registry settings… will the program be deleted? (I’ve
got computer-savvy kids/users).
No. But chances are, messing with a computer’s program
directories and operating system registry, may aversely
affect overall operation of your computer. Given the
intricacies of KleenWeb’s design, deleting
registry entries that seem to be related may render your
computer either unusable or completely
internet-inaccessible. There’s no easy way to remove
KleenWeb from the heart of your computer’s internet
access functionality.
